TEACHERS
Inge Qunhua (May 2007)
Yanto Dyrssen (July 2007)
is from California, but he lives and works in eastern France where he has taught English as a foreign language for the last thirty years.
He has taught both general and specialized English, at all levels and in a wide variety of fields. He loves to learn languages and is fascinated by the learning process.
Says Yanto, “I believe that we all build our own skills, from the bottom up, by strictly focusing our attention on problems, and actively seeking our own solutions. We draw conclusions from this work, and we re-invest this experience in seeking more solutions to new problems. We can learn a lot about language learning by observing babies in their everyday lives.”
Seikatsu Karu (July 2007)

She works as a Business Consultant. Seikatsu does technical writing as part of her many other responsibilities. She also has done copy editing, written health newsletter, events newsletters, and has done some creative writing.

Seikatsu created and teaches the Business English Writing Program
Alianaluz Rivera (January 2008)
Hi, I’m Alianaluz in Second Life and I absolutely love teaching ESL here! I’m originally from Sweden but I now live in the USA, in New York. Though my native language is Swedish, I’ve been speaking English since age six. I’ve lived in several different countries and on three other continents before I moved to the USA eight years ago. I enjoy meeting and interacting with people from different places, experiences, ethnicities, ages, and linguistic backgrounds. I’m studying to be an ESL teacher and will receive a Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) this coming spring (go me!). Teaching ESL in SL is exciting and very rewarding to me. Most students here not only come from a variety of countries, language backgrounds and cultures but also most of them still reside in their native countries and have never lived in a country in which English is the native language. That such a diverse group of people who are not all from the same country and who remain in their countries of origin can gather here to learn together is unique indeed and reflects the growing global intimacy of humanity. I enjoy teaching these students and learning from them and I’m happy to be a part of this endeavor to build connections between and among the communities and peoples of the world.
